We assume corporate branding requires locking your proprietary font inside a strict walled garden. Google just open sourced their flagship typeface and made it the default in Docs to quietly dictate the visual aesthetic of the entire internet.
Netflix
We assume generative artificial intelligence will make our social feeds infinitely more engaging. The reality is that a tsunami of synthetic content will drive exhausted consumers straight back to the curated safety of YouTube and Netflix.
We assume Amazon and Microsoft will forever control the internet through a rigid server duopoly. The reality is that terrified corporate executives are aggressively splitting their infrastructure to avoid catastrophic vendor lock-in.
Technology
We assume the smart glasses market requires building a complex wearable computer that tries to do everything. Amazon can easily capture significant market share by simply building a highly specialized device dedicated entirely to reading.
Effective Executive
We assume modern philosophy is restricted to dusty academics writing unreadable textbooks. Naval Ravikant proves the most profound wisdom of our era is actually being delivered through podcast interviews and startup equity.
Performance Marketing
We assume generative chatbots will inevitably destroy Google search volume and cripple their advertising business. The reality is their unmatched attribution tracking and forced algorithmic bidding guarantee their pricing power will only increase.
Robotics
We assume the future of online retail is a race to the bottom controlled entirely by the Amazon search bar. The success of independent footwear brands like Atoms proves that modular infrastructure allows obsessive founders to bypass monopolies and build highly lucrative cult communities.
Economy & Markets
We assume the United States dollar is naturally losing its status as the global reserve currency due to historical cycles. The reality is that American dominance in artificial intelligence and advanced nuclear energy will permanently lock in financial supremacy for another century.
Robotics
We assume the future of automation requires a walking and talking humanoid robot to replace human labor. The reality is that the most lucrative robotics companies are building highly specialized, single purpose machines that print cash from day one.
Prediction Markets
We assume sports betting only enriches digital sportsbooks and media networks. The reality is that the influx of prediction market capital will permanently inflate the physical value of a stadium ticket and the hardware inside it.
Gaming
We assume a shrinking player base is an immediate death sentence for an online game. The recent integration of generative algorithms into private servers proves that synthetic players will permanently solve the multiplayer ghost town.
Gaming
We assume the Mac will never be a true gaming platform because human developers refuse to rewrite their code. A new era of algorithmic game porting just shattered this barrier, positioning the rumored M7 Ultra as an unparalleled gaming powerhouse.
